Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors Corp. (MMC) donated 10 devices of electrical and hybrid cars to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) as part of their dedication in selling clean strength and environmental protection.
The donated automobiles, inclusive of five devices of Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle (i-MiEV) and five units of Outlander plug-in hybrid cars (PHEV), will be used by the DENR as carrier motors at its primary workplace in Quezon City and regional offices in the cities of Cebu and Davao.
Jonas Leones, undersecretary for policy, making plans and global affairs, said the DENR solidly helps using cars run by means of renewable electricity to reduce carbon emissions from the transport sector.
“We want to encourage the production and intake of technology which do now not harm the environment,” said Leones, who spoke in behalf of Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu.
